Tomodachi month!

Hey guys! Fencer6 here! It has been forever since I was last on. This summer I just pretty much went on vacation. And I was pretty busy too. Volunteering for VBS, going to Texas for a mission trip, staying at an overnight camp for a week, and just chilling out. But, I am back in action and weekly posts resuming! Wooooo!

Alright, so since it's the last day in August, and I've totally gotten addicted to Tomodachi Life in the past few days, I thought I'd try something new. I did a post several months ago talking about Tomodachi Life, which you can see by clicking here, and I thought it was some random crap from Japan that would just be weird and no fun. But I was wrong. I got the game just the two days ago and I've already played 6 hours on it, and I have to say I'm doing pretty well. I just think that this would be a perfect opportunity for a diary entry-like series similar to the Animal Crossing one I did several months ago. So, for all of September, I will be doing lots of Tomodachi Life posts, as well as some of the regular stuff. Now, just a quick warning- I'm not guaranteeing this will be the theme all month. It may fail, and I may have to scrap the idea, but I'm hoping that won't happen and I'm nearly sure that we will have at least 1-2 TL posts a week.

I hope you will enjoy taking a look at life at Snikey Island (wierd name, but it's a weird game in general, so I thought it would fit). Stay tuned!

Mario Kart 8 is doing gr8!

We all know that the Wii U did really bad on the market. But Mario Kart 8 is doing amazing, and is even boosting Wii U sales. By far the best Mario Kart title to date, Mario Kart 8 has already sold 1.2 million copies worldwide in just three days from May 29- June 1. But not only has Mario Kart 8 done great itself, but it has also boosted Wii U sales. In the UK alone, the release of Mario Kart 8 has boosted Wii U sales 666%! That means that one game has sextupled (that means x6) the sales of the faltering Wii U. It's obvious that everyone is dying to play the newest Mario Kart game. And trust me, it's awesome. In fact, you can click here to see me playing some of Mario Kart. I'm glad that the Nintendo is finally making some money on their newest system, and I hope they can pull it off again. I plan to soon write a review for Mario Kart 8, so stay tuned!

Mario Kart Track Editor Possible In Future Installments

Use your Gamecube controller on the Wii U!

Hey guys, Fencer6 here. Today we have some pretty big news for retro fans of the Nintendo series. Nintendo has announced they will be... drumroll please...

The return of the GameCube controller! Originally the GameCube controller, obviously, worked with the GameCube. Then, when the Wii came out, they didn't want to anger fans and not allow them to play their previous collection of games on the new system as well as to be able to continually sell GameCube games to wii owners who wanted to by the Wii. It was kind of like a two-in-one deal. Buy the Wii and get a GameCube free. So they programmed the Wii to accept GameCube discs and installed a series of slots on the top of the system to allow for the GameCube controllers to plug into the system as well as a slot for GameCube memory cards.

This allowed for all kind of awesome features. Not only could you play retro games on the new system, but you could also play certain new games on the new controller such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. I loved these controls after playing games like Melee and Double Dash. They felt natural. I trained myself to play Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros with the GameCube controller, and I used this whenever I could. Not only that, but it also allowed people to play 'Virtual Console Games' from the N64 that could be downloaded straight from the online store and played with the GameCube controller.

But of course, the Wii U ruined this great feature. You could no longer play those awesome Virtual Console games with a gamecube controller and instead had to buy the Wii U Pro Controller, which cost a whole $50, and if you wanted to play MK Wii or SSB Brawl you either had to shell out the bucks or learn to play with the skinny stick that was a Wii remote. It might be great for hitting golf balls or swinging a lightsaber, but it was pretty dang hard to play a racing or fighting game.

So, as you could probably guess, fans weren't happy. And with the release of Super Smash Bros. Wii U just around the corner, people were even more disappointed. If you wanted to play Super Smash Bros. with a GameCube like controller with four people you would have to spend $200 on four sets of Wii U Pros. Thankfully, for the first time, they decided to do something right with the Wii U. available at the release of Super Smash Bros. Wii U this holiday season.

That's right! You can use your GameCube controllers on the Wii U! These awesome devices won't be available for purchase until winter, but thankfully the Super Smash Bros. Invitational @ E3 2014 will be using these adapters so that people won't have to learn to play SSB Wii U with the Gamepad/ wii remote. I am super excited about this news, and I can't wait to get one. It would be amazing that they could have some GameCube virtual console games on the Eshop because it would make total sense.

Little other in known about this piece of hardware, but you can check out the GameXplain video below. And stay tuned for more news on this items release date and other GameCube news!

Mario Kart Grand Prix 1: Mushroom Cup

Hey guys! Today I have a new video for you by yours truly, Fencer6!  With the release of Mario Kart 8, I decided to create a Play-Through series for Mario Kart 8. I will be playing all eight grand prixs, and in this episode you will get to see the first prix: the mushroom cup. I hope you like it, and I will create more soon! Thanks!

Also, I have decided to end my New Super Mario Bros. Wii series because that, with the hardware I have it is difficult to record since it is a wii game, not to mention it is a fairly old game by now. Of course you can still see that video by clicking here. See you next episode!

Hyrule Warriors news!

Hey Hyrule fans! Fencer6 here! We have a ton of new news for the latest Hyrule Warriors game!
The Official Hyrule Warriors Logo Has Been Revealed

Above is the new Hyrule Warriors logo, which, as fans predicted, confirms the name will remain Hyrule Warriors. While this reveals almost nothing, it does look pretty awesome and shows off their amazing master sword design, Along with this picture was these three statements shown below:

  • The first stage of the game takes place in Hyrule Field.
  • Players must defend or reclaim areas by fighting against hordes of enemies and using different types of flashy and powerful moves.
  • Players will encounter new enemies such as Sorceress Cia, but some familiar enemies like Bokoblins and Lizalfos from The Legend of Zelda series will also appear in the game.

Honestly, these blurbs of information makes it seem even cooler. While starting off in Hyrule Field isn't that big of a deal, it might mean that we finally don't start off the game ASLEEP! The fact that you defend or reclaim areas seems interesting, possible meaning the main plot of this game is defending Hyrule's territory. The fact that their are 'hordes of enemies' seems interesting as well. I mean, if you have such an overpowered sword, might as well use it. Although, I have no idea what 'flashy moves' means. Could it mean that we get more combo moves? Well, whatever it is, anything flashy can't be a bad thing.

Hyrule Warriors Tresure Box Set Delightfully Detailed

Secondly, a 'Treasure Box Set' will be released along with the game for hardcore fans. This treasure chest will include the following:

  • Retail copy of the game
  • Official art book
  • Triforce-style table clock
  • “Bravery” costume set (3 types)
  • “Wisdom” costume set (3 types)
  • “Strength” costume set (2 types)
  • Hero’s scarf
  • Treasure chest-shaped retail box

All of this while be sold in Japan for 14,904 yen, or $145.91. Even though this is a high price, you do get a lot of exclusive items. A scarf, official art book, lots of in game costumes, a... treasure chest, and a triforce style table clock is like gold to a dedicated fan and I'm sure lots of these will be sold to the hardcore fans out there. I'm not the biggest fan of Zelda, but I might download the game from the Nintendo Eshop. While the game (the retail version, the Eshop version, and the Treasure Box Set) have no American release date, they will be released on August 14 in Japan (nothing like back to school than killing Ganon minions!). Hopefully our release date won't be far behind.

Lastly in Hyrule Warriors promotional news, Nintendo has set up a brand new official website for Hyrule Warriors, which you can view by clicking here. This is what the website had to say about the game:
Cut down entire legions of enemies as Link™, Impa and other Legend of Zelda™ characters using over-the-top powerful Dynasty-Warriors-style moves. This tour de force through the beloved locales of Hyrule will have you battling the fiercest enemies in Zelda history. Think tactically and conquer missions in the most efficient way you can to save Hyrule!
The delicate balance of the Triforce has been disrupted, and Hyrule Kingdom is once again being torn apart by a dark power, this time lead by Sorceress Cia. Now it’s up to the legendary hero Link to face hordes of enemies and find the missing Princess Zelda™. Advance the story to unlock new playable characters with unique moves and weapon types. Collect Rupees and other useful items to upgrade weapons and craft badges, which you can use to bolster each warrior’s abilities. Then unleash the full power of your attacks with intense combos to clear wave after wave of Bokoblin hordes. You’ll have to get your gloves dirty to save Hyrule this time.

  • Play as fan-favorite characters like Link and Impa for the first time in the series!
  • Battle the fiercest Legend of Zelda enemies across Hyrule’s most famous locales.
  • Lay waste to your opponents with brutally efficient attacks and intense combos
Think tactically and complete missions in the most efficient way possibleThe fact that you can play as Impa seems very interesting. Never before have we been able to play the whole game as any character besides link. While little news besides this was revealed on the website, they did reveal some screen shots, which I have debuted below.

Gameplay

While not much gameplay news was revealed compared to how much promotion they've done, the following details were revealed.

  1. In this storyline, Link is a warrior in training, and Zelda is stolen from Shia, a Ganon-wannabe evil witch.
  2. Besides Impa, several other characters are also playable
  3. A new kind of targeting called 'Z targeting' can be used to dodge attacks and hit enemies at there weak points
  4. Different weapons provide varied fighting styles- light weapons focus on speed speed and heavier ones on damage
  5. Weapons and even characters can be upgraded
  6. For the first time ever, this Zelda title will be two player! One using the gamepad while the other uses the TV!
All of this news sounds pretty amazing. New ways to upgrade, attack, and use weapons will add all kinds of varying strategy, and playing multiplayer will be an interesting technique never seen in a Zelda game before!

Well, that's all for this post! Be on the lookout for new posts about the next Zelda title. Below are a series of screenshots about the game. Based on what I've seen I'm going to guess the title will be rated T for the amount of violence and some of the clothes characters wear (which I didn't include below). Hope you like it! Stay tuned! Also, if you're dying for new news, I have also included several GameXplain videos below as well.

Diancie, Hoppa, and Volcanion news revealed!

Hey guys, Fencer6 here with some exciting Pokemon news! Lately we've been doing a lot of Pokemon TCG news, but today I have some new news for the video game! And no, it isn't Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. We finally have more news on Pokemon X and Y! Over two and half months ago we did a post on Diancie, Hoppa, and Volcanion (which you can view by clicking here), and finally some more news has emerged. A few months ago, hackers broke into Pokemon X and Y's coding and reveled Diancie's unique move Diamond Storm, as well as revealing that Diancie will be a mystery gift, both of which you can see in the videos below.

But this isn't the only news. There is a lot more recent news that has only been recently revealed. Hackers from pokeproject.org revealed new information regarding the new legendary trio. The newest of which is Hoopa's event. Below we have a transcript of the conversation you have with a man in the Parfum Palace with a 'special Hoppa' in your party. You can see the transcript below.

"The Pokémon called Hoopa is linked to many of the unexplained supernatural events that have occurred in this world. My search for Hoopa has led me to this library."
"No way! Could that be the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa that you have there with you?" Options: Yes | No
No: "Oh, I was mistaken? Sorry about that..."
Yes: "Whoaaa! I can’t believe it’s true! See, I travel around the world, trying to solve its many mysteries. I’ve been researching supernatural events that have occurred over the last 100 years. One thing I’ve found is that the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa is connected to many of these strange events! I’ve also managed to come across some information about the mysterious power that Hoopa appears to wield. So, without further ado, I’d like to share my findings with you! After all, you’re actually traveling with Hoopa--the very subject of my research!" Options: Its                                                                                               mysterious rings | The secret of its lair | Its deeds and                                                                                     exploits | Nothing

Its mysterious rings: "It’s said that Hoopa can use the power of the three rings it adorns itself with to move objects about as it pleases... That’s not all! I’ve also heard that when Hoopa unleashes its full power, the size of the rings can grow up to multiple miles in length! With such massive rings, apparently it can transport even entire islands!"

The secret of its lair: "It’s said that Hoopa’s lair is overflowing with the objects and treasures it nabbed over the years, claiming them for its own. Rumor has it that there are mountains of gold and silver treasures that it took from ancient kings and wealthy land barons. I hear that Hoopa’s lair is in an oasis in the desert, but no one’s been able to find the place!"

Its deeds and exploits: "There’s a tale about an organization that tried to manipulate Hoopa’s power for their own benefit. After a while, certain objects that belonged to the organization mysteriously began to disappear. Everything from weapons and vehicles to money... It all began to vanish one by one. The organization got scared and decided to hole up inside of their headquarters. Once they did, things stopped disappearing! Just like that! Relieved that it was finally over, the organization finally decided to step outside. It was then that they discovered their headquarters had been transported wholesale to somewhere in the middle of a desert! Terrified of what they had unleashed, the organization promptly disbanded."
"Whether Hoopa becomes a trustworthy partner or ends up bringing about great misfortune depends entirely on the Trainer. I hope you don’t forget that. I think Hoopa’ll turn out right as rain with you at its side, though! You look like a Trainer who knows how to take care of his Pokémon and treat ’em right. Well, I hope you end up having lots of fine adventures with Hoopa! Have fun!"

Also, Volcanion and Diancie have had their event revealed as well, which you can see below.

Finally, I got to know our editor in chief. She finished her research about the Mythical Pokémon Volcanion and came back to the office.

Whoa! S-sorry! I was so surprised! I’ve been looking for Volcanion for 15 years. And finally, finally, I met a Trainer who’s traveling with it! I traveled everywhere to gather the information about Volcanion and put together a memo. I’ll let you read the memo. But just for you, because it’s top secret. Do you want to read the top-secret memo about Volcanion? Which part of the memo do you want to read?

My top-secret memo about Volcanion... If you’re Volcanion’s Trainer, I wouldn’t mind you reading it.

A memo marked as “Top Secret” is on the desk.

On the XXth day of the XXth month at the Pokémon Day Care on Route 7: About the extraordinary power that Volcanion is said to possess. Discussed it with a top Breeder who’s very familiar with the ecology of Pokémon and drew the following deduction. In order to cause a steam explosion powerful enough to blow up mountains, the Pokémon must have an organ with extremely high temperature that can instantly vaporize water to steam. That kind of organ is unheard of in the ecology of Pokémon, but Volcanion may have it...

On the XXth day of the XXth month at the Pokémon Center in Camphrier Town: Interviewed a Trainer who says he witnessed a Pokémon that could be Volcanion when he was stranded in a mountain. According to the Trainer, a huge Pokémon’s shadow appeared suddenly. Two huge armlike limbs that could crush even the land extended from its back, and from their tips, something that looked like smoke belched out and made the fog around the Pokémon even thicker. The Trainer said the Pokémon’s shadow slowly disappeared into the fog.

On the XXth day of the XXth month at Café Kizuna in Lumiose City: In the southern part of the Kalos region, there seems to be a custom to revere Volcanion as a nation-building Pokémon. People seem to believe that a steam explosion caused by Volcanion created the plain where they live. As a matter of fact, a huge mountain range suddenly disappeared due to an unexplained explosion in that part of the region in the past...

If you feel like reading my memo, come visit me anytime. Volcanion seems to trust you. I want you and Volcanion to travel together as good partners to each other!

Finally is Diancie, even though this was revealed a while back:

Please wait, (sir/miss).

I apologize for stopping you suddenly. But the Pokémon you just received is surely the Mythical Pokémon Diancie, isn’t it?

Diancie... A sudden mutation of a Carbink. The probability and mechanism of its origin are still veiled in mystery.

The Pokémon Diancie is synonymous with beauty. Its body absorbs light with a perfect balance and gives off a radiance that looks like nothing in this world.

In order to see that beauty, our master has been looking for Diancie for a long time. We are also very keen on taking Diancie to our master... That desire kept us going and led us here. Let me get straight to the point. Would you kindly give us your Diancie?

No way! All right...

Is there some way we can persuade you? Hmmm... Is there any way... Oh! I’m so glad you’re so understanding. Then... Wait. M-master?! I’m sorry for troubling you.

You... I truly appreciate your efforts in seeking Diancie for me. But...

What you can truly value is not something you can get by depriving somebody of a relationship. You should get it by your own actions, by your own efforts, or sometimes simply by your own luck. Then it will have true value.

To be honest with you, I envy you. But more importantly, I’d like to congratulate you on meeting Diancie and becoming travel partners. Congratulations.

Legend has it that Diancie protects its travel partners from accidents and illnesses. I wish you good luck and hope you can keep traveling together.

You two... Sorry, I shouldn’t keep relying on you, but please help me find my Diancie.
