In addition to this, I will also be adding coverage of apps and PC games! But don't fret- Pokemon will still be a top priority. Chain Fishing: How to catch shiny Pokemon Method 1

My favorite method for catching shiny Pokemon (and the easiest) is by far chain fishing. The idea is this: you continuously fish again and again and again and eventually you will reach a shiny Pokemon. But first, you need to get the proper "equipment" to do it.
First what you'll what to do is get a fishing rod. My personal favorite is the Super rod, which can be found in the "fishing house" on route 16. The other two are the good rod and the old rod. The old rod is the first you can receive, given to you by a guy in Ambrette Aquarium. Then comes the good rod, given to you by a fisherman in Coumarine City boat yard.. The difference between the rods is that the better the rod, the higher and powerful Pokemon you catch. For example, with a good rod you can catch Dratini in a certain river. But with the ultra rod you can catch a dragonair, bringing you one step closer to that dragonite you've always wanted. I would definitely recommend registering the rod of your choice, too, because otherwise you'll be going in and out of your inventory a lot.

The second thing you'll need is a Pokemon that knows Suction Cups or Sticky hold. I think that suction cups is the easiest to find a Pokemon with. I like to get use Inkays  from Route 8 or Azure Bay. But they are rare to find, so as soon as I catch one that doesn't have the ability I find it easier to breed it than search in the grass for hours at a time. Sticky hold is Inkay's second ability, so while it isn't the easiest to come by it's a lot easier to find than its hidden ability. Suction cups makes it to where nearly every time you reel in you get a catch. There is another technique where if you wedge yourself between object on all sides of you except the direction you're fishing (left, right, and behind you) then it is almost guaranteed that you'll get a bite every time! Also, the Pokemon with the ability must be at the the front of your party. But since I like to breed mine, the trouble was it was a level one, so it couldn't run from the battle nor could it fight. But what I like to do is give it a smoke ball, so it can flee from the battle without fail.

Now all you have to do is just fish over and over again. As I mentioned before, you don't have to knock out the Pokemon, you just have to run, which saves a lot of time. But remember that any of the following actions may or will break your chain:

1. Exiting out of Pokemon X/Y

2. Leaving the area

3. Trading/ Battling

4. Catching a wild Pokemon

5. Having an egg hatch

While not all of these have been technically proven, I do believe (through testing and research) that these will break a chain, which will mess the entire thing up. The idea is that the more times you reel in, the higher the chance is of a shiny. Some people say that this is all one big scam, and that it doesn't work, but I can tell you for a fact I don't believe that. Normally, the chances of encountering a shiny Pokemon is about a 1/22,000 chance. And yet with this method me and my friend have managed to catch shinnies after 17 reels, 12 reels, even two reels. If someone says that everyone in the world is just getting extremely lucky when they fish, I would basically laugh in their face.

How to catch a shiny announcment

Hello Pokemon fans! Today I am here to announce the beginning to a new mini series that's all about catching shiny Pokemon! When you beat the game, you kind of start to get bored with it, right? Well, shiny hunting can put some thrill back into your game, and I'll show you how. There are three ways to do this; #1: The masuda method, #2 Pokeradar, and #3 chain fishing, which is knew to X and Y. In each post I will cover how to perform that certain method of catching shinnies.

In case you're a new player, a shiny Pokemon is a Pokemon that is shiny. It has a different color from the other Pokemon. And it's super rare.
